Love and Travel

I love to travel! I also really love romance. What happens when you bring them both together?!? Something really amazing! Two of my dear friends have recently become engaged. I am super excited for them. Is 2018 the year you finally fall in love? Or decide to take the leap and get married? Looking for unique getaway ideas for you and your significant other? Whether you’ve been married for awhile or just embarking on a new relationship, romance and travel do go together. This is of course because traveling as a couple is a great way to bond, reconnect away from the daily norms of work and family life or start a new life together! Not sure where to start? Here are some of the hottest romance travel trends for 2018!

“Mini-Moons” or “Fun-Sized” Honeymoons

Newlyweds celebrating their new life as Mr. and Mrs. often dream of venturing off to far away locales where romance can blossom. But extended vacations are not in the cards for all newly married couples, especially if the couple has taken time off or dipped into their savings to plan the wedding. This is why many modern brides and grooms are choosing to invest in what are known as “mini moons”, which are honeymoons that are shorter and less expensive than traditional 1-2 week honeymoons. Places like Florida, the Caribbean Islands or even a short 3 or 4 day cruise are great options for a “mini moon.”

Multi-Destination All Inclusive Tour Packages

Another romance travel trend for 2018 is the multi-destination tour package. If you and your sweetie are up for some unforgettable adventure and sight-seeing, a multi-destination vacation is just what you need. Whether celebrating a milestone anniversary, an engagement or a birthday, a multi-stop vacation package is perfect if it fits within your budget and if the two of you have the time to spare. As an example if you have been dreaming about the over the water bungalows in Tahiti, but want to visit Fiji, Bora Bora and Moorea as well, you can visit the islands by land and island hop by air or you can island hop by cruise ship with a pre/post cruise stay in the over water bungalow. Either option is very romantic!

Adults Only or Off Season Cruises for Couples

Engaged, married and dating couples are also looking for more ways to sail the high seas together without many distractions. And the cruise industry has taken notice! Some major cruise lines have even begun offering romantic cruises for adult couples. You could also look at taking a cruise during the off season when most kids are in school to enjoy a quieter, more adult-friendly cruising experience. You can even plan a wedding or vow renewal onboard the ship or at one of the ports of call.

There is no one way to travel romantically. After all, your vacation or honeymoon should involve the things the two of you enjoy doing together. Where will your love lead you?
